The category listings in eSales Lifestyle are based on sophisticated product lifecycle analysis, customer behavioural insights, exposure strategies, merchandising actions such as promotions or demotions, as well as business domain knowledge. All these elements are part of the eSales Lifestyle product listing relevance arena.
In addition to a powerful product listing, category listings also support sorting as well as faceting for more focused results.
Facets are used to allow visitors to filter and narrow down the products in a category listing. Facets can be ordered by either relevance or simply alphabetically. The facets to display, and the order of the facets, are configured in the Settings tab in the Experience app.
To reduce clutter and irrelevant filter options for the visitor, only facets and facet values that are relevant to the category will be shown, i.e. contextual facets. For example, a visitor browsing a category for shoes is only interested in size values for shoes and not sizes for other types of products.
The default sort order of eSales Lifestyle is
Relevance. This applies to all built-in product listing and ranking logic to produce the most relevant results. Further options are however available to users, this includes
Price High to Low,
Price low to high,
